The CEO of Iran Alumina Company announced: For the first time since 2018, the company’s bauxite production performance in the first half of the current year has exceeded the approved plan with a growth rate of 114 percent.

According to the Public Relations and Social Affairs Department of Iran Alumina Company, Dr. Hamidreza Badkoubeh stated that bauxite extraction from the company’s domestic resources (Jajarm mines and other sources) reached more than 495,000 tons during the first six months of 1404 — marking a 114% progress beyond the originally forecasted plan. Compared to the performance between 2018 and 2024, this achievement represents an unprecedented record.
He emphasized that this success was achieved despite numerous challenges, including a 12‑day imposed war, severe shortages of explosives, fuel scarcity, supply restrictions for equipment, and intense pressures caused by sanctions.
Dr. Badkoubeh added that, through the efforts of the company’s experts and mine workers, along with strategic changes and smart planning, the path toward achieving these goals was effectively paved.
Furthermore, the CEO highlighted progress in exploration and mine development, noting that by drilling more than 10,000 meters of core holes, the company achieved 116% progress compared to the approved plan.
He continued: In the area of bauxite procurement from private mines, the Exploration and Mine Development Unit succeeded in purchasing over 70,000 tons of high‑quality bauxite, achieving 100% of the targeted level.
Dr. Badkoubeh concluded that, overall, the performance of the mining sector — in exploration, extraction, and supply of bauxite for the Jajarm Alumina Plant — represents a turning point in the history of Iran Alumina Company since 2018.
Finally, he noted: “This achievement reflects a transformation in management perspective, employee solidarity, and a strong focus on self‑reliance in securing raw materials. It marks an effective step toward sustainable production and productivity enhancement in the alumina industry — a path that will continue with strength and determination.”
