The use of aluminum is increasingly expanding in many industries, particularly high-tech industries because it is not only unique in properties but also it is a strategic metal, and the need for this metal in the global market has markedly increased.
High targets set for the production of this metal in the nationwide development plans and construction of several aluminum ingot plants indicates the importance of this strategic metal. High-purity aluminum oxide (Al2O3) is the main raw material for the production of aluminum, and Alumina Iran is the only producer of alumina powder in Iran. The company is based in Jajarm complex. The geological exploration studies performed in Jajarm bauxite mines, located 10 kilometers to the northeast of Jajarm, in North Khorasan Province, indicate that the quantity and quality of Jajarm bauxite is sufficient to justify the construction of an alumina treatment plant.
