Visit and Session of the North Khorasan Province Meteorology Development Working Group at Iran Alumina Company
In line with developing inter-sectoral cooperation and reviewing the industrial capacities of the province, members of the North Khorasan Province Meteorology Development Working Group visited Iran Alumina Company. They toured various sections of this industrial complex and held a specialized meeting with the company’s managers.
The program commenced with a session attended by the members of the Meteorology Development Working Group and several managers and heads of departments at Iran Alumina Company. During this meeting, the company’s management presented a comprehensive report on operational progress, production capacities, applied technologies, and development plans. They highlighted the critical role of meteorological data and information in optimizing production processes, managing energy consumption, mitigating environmental hazards, and increasing productivity. In turn, the members of the Meteorology Development Working Group outlined the goals of the working group, emphasized the importance of meteorological monitoring and forecasting in large-scale industries, and stressed the necessity of strengthening interaction between the industry and the meteorology sector.
Subsequently, the working group members toured the Alumina Production Line. Here, company experts provided detailed explanations regarding the various stages of alumina production, from raw material procurement to processing, quality control, and final product dispatch. The visitors gained firsthand familiarity with the technical processes, advanced equipment, and environmental requirements governing the production line. The role of weather conditions and precise meteorological data in ensuring production stability and reducing operational risks was particularly emphasized.
In another part of the visit, the working group members toured Iran Alumina Company’s Aluminum Ingot Plant. In this section, the stages of ingot production, quality standards, and product process control methods were explained. Relevant experts detailed how managing environmental and climatic conditions can be effective in improving product quality, increasing employee safety, and reducing potential line shutdowns.
To conclude the program, the necessity of sustained interaction and cooperation between the North Khorasan Province Meteorology Development Working Group and Iran Alumina Company was underlined. It was agreed that avenues for joint collaboration in utilizing meteorological data and services within the industrial sector should be further strengthened to enhance resilience, productivity, and sustainable development.
