Metallurgical Alumina or Metal-Grade Aluminum Oxide (Al₂O₃)
The primary use of aluminum oxide is in the production of aluminum metal. It is also used as an abrasive (due to its high hardness) and as a refractory material (because of its high melting point). Other applications include use in the glass and crystal industry, steel production, electrical insulators, and welding electrodes.
